I struggled with anxiety and depression. I was constantly down and feeling awful about myself. It peaked at university and I couldn’t stop worrying about what I was doing and where I was going in life. Right after I graduated, I had an “aha” moment and I knew I had to address my mental health. Fitness, especially dance and yoga, has been such an important part of that process. I’ve had a lot of inspiration from JUSTSTRONG and the Instagram fitness community, who have encouraged me to try lots of new things and reminded me that there’s no “right” way to look. My friends and family, especially my parents, have also given me so much support throughout, picking me up and motivating me when I feel like I’m done. I am strong because I have fought mental illness and come through the other side. I’m so proud of where I am and where I’m going, and it feels amazing to know that I can achieve anything I want to. My biggest achievements so far are completing my degree and dancing with the 2012 Olympic torch, but I know I have many more to come!
